Our Mission

The mission of the West Monroe High School Foundation is to provide resources and financial support that will make a sustainable, positive impact on the quality of education for all West Monroe High School Students.

The West Monroe High School Foundation was established with four goals in mind:

To be an influential partner with West Monroe High School without interfering with or           replacing funding or support from other sources.

To encourage essential and innovative academic programs designed to promote student development and successful completion of high school.

To unite alumni, parents, faculty, staff and the community for the purpose of providing financial support to promote the educational advancement and success of every student.

To be an advocate of West Monroe High School by sharing the school's accomplishments with alumni, parents and friends, and promoting West Monroe High School within our community and among local businesses.

The West Monroe High School Foundation was founded in 2009 as a private 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions may be tax deductible.

West Monroe High School continues to maintain its reputation as one of the finest public schools in Louisiana as a result of the vision of the Ouachita Parish School Board, the tireless dedication of the school's leaders, faculty and staff, and the generosity of our alumni, parents and friends. We understand that excellence doesn't happen by chance; it requires a continual commitment of time, talent, and financial resources.

Our Vision

West Monroe High School holds a special place in the hearts of its alumni, faculty, students, parents and friends. Thousands of WMHS graduates enjoy their lives as productive members of society and make great contributions to communities across the United States. The most fundamental goal of the Foundation is simple - to help WMHS continue to produce successful, productive citizens.

Since 2009, we have given over $100,000 in the form of grants and for campus improvements. Our grant program has been well received by the faculty of WMHS. The WMHS Foundation awards classroom vouchers to all instructional teachers at the beginning of the school year enabling teachers to buy classroom supplies. The Foundation also awards one $5,000 grant each year to a department or group of teachers. We offer grants for amounts up to $500 for supplies, activities, or programs that improve and enhance the educational process. Over 20 of these grants have been awarded thus far. The Foundation has allocated over $12,000 for campus landscaping improvements and almost $30,000 to purchase equipment and supplies for MagnaTech, our new STEM program. Sustainable funding is needed in order to continue to support our school through this grant program.

The common thread evident with those involved in the Foundation is simply that we care. The Foundation members understand that there is too much at stake for our community, state and nation to allow any WMHS student to leave the school without offering them the very best.
